Senior Safety Advisor - FKG Mining

Our newest Division is expanding our diverse project portfolio in Queensland and we currently have vacancies for Safety Advisors in our Mining Business Unit.

The overriding purpose of the Senior Safety Advisor role is to ensure that the FKG daily mission of "No Injuries to Anyone" is achieved via diligently monitoring assigned sites to ensure that all legislative and operational Health and Safety requirements are met and that the safety of our employees remains our highest priority.

To be considered for this role, you need to demonstrate: 

  • Excellent working knowledge of the Coal Mining Safety and Health Act coupled with general knowledge of Workplace Health and Safety legislation
  • Accredited WH&S qualification, including auditing, incident investigation and analytical skills
  • 5 to 10 Years experience in the mining industry with emphasis on civil works on project sites
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to build rapport and communicate with various groups and individuals
  • Ability to implement and monitor WHS practices
  • Ability to bring about positive change in safe work practices
  • Professional approach
  • Attention to detail, persistence to follow through
  • Above average competency in Microsoft Office software

Reporting directly to the Project Manager, this is a permanent full-time role based in Brisbane, with time spent on sites as required. Alternatively your preference may be largely site based.
