2011 FOGS Indigenous Employment Expo 14 September 2011
On Wednesday 14 September 2011 FK Gardner and Sons participated in the Toowoomba FOGS (Former Origin Greats) Indigenous Employment Expo.
With the company's continued expansion into rural and remote areas, the local Indigenous population has provided a potential pool of employees with an invaluable detailed knowledge of the local district.
A large part of FKG's success is attributed to employing locals, so attending this year's Expo provided an opportunity to meet future candidates for apprenticeships, traineeships and other positions within the company.
The day was deemed a success with the FKG team speaking to around 100 members of the general public from school leavers to mature age apprentices all keen to further their careers in the civil or construction industry.
In addition to the education and employment providers on show there was a bit of star power at the event from a few previous Queensland rugby league players in attendance.
