Put Your Hands Together for the 2011 Tour of Toowoomba 12 September 2011
Another year and another FKG Tour of Toowoomba officially wrapped up, with preparations already underway for the 2012 event.
On the 12 September 2011, major sponsors, event organisers and council delegates congregated at City Hall to celebrate another successful tour and thank everyone that has made the tour the triumph it is today.
The recognition received is of the highest level and is now one of the most talked about races amongst the Australia cycling community, the general public and is also gauging international interest. This year the coverage on SBS received 104,000 viewers with a further 5000 tuning in on YouTube.
Event Director, Mr John Osborne (OAM) expressed how thankful he was at the sponsors generosity towards the event, especially major sponsor FK Gardner and Sons.
"FKG have always gone the extra mile and are so fiercely loyal to the event, it has been wonderful having them a part of the future of cycling" Mr Osborne said.
Heather Gardner, who has been heavily involved with the event since its humble beginnings in 2010 has also been extremely pleased with the interest and response the tour has received.
Mrs Gardner said "it has been an extremely satisfying achievement to work alongside the entire FKG Tour of Toowoomba team to grow this event from it's inaugural running last year to what is now a major event on the cycling calendar".
With the feedback so positive from the past two years the entire team look forward to making the event bigger and better into the future.
