The FKG Team working on the Central State School in Mackay had a surprise visitor on Friday, during a two day visit to Mackay, Prime Minister Mr. Kevin Rudd stopped in to check on the progress.

Unfortunately for Mr Rudd, his position doesn't even allow for any short comings with Safety Inductions, so happily he was site inducted through the process and donned on the high vis vest and hard hat for a tour of the site with our General Manager, Craig Clancy.

With his relaxed style, KRudd chatted easily with construction staff and keenly asked questions about the future outcomes for the site.

Site personnel enthusiastically lapped up the "Rudd Factor", in awe of the man who runs our country, and what a down to earth, knock about character he was and what a highlight it was to "just shake his hand".

The new facilities, which form part of the Federal Government's "Building the Education Revolution" programme, will house a basketball, volleyball and netball courts as well as a new resource centre.

FKG General Manager Craig Clancy summed up the visit, by saying "it was and honour and a priviledge to meet our Prime Minister".
