Project Snapshot - Len Patti Mitsubishi Toowoomba

Len Patti  Mitsubishi Toowoomba is a locally owned dealership that prides itself on providing drivers on the Darling Downs quality cars that exceed their expectations.  They have over 150 years of combined management experience in the motoring industry.

Darryl Patti, Dealer Principal of Len Patti Mitsubishi has over 30 years experience selling cars and understands that purchasing a vehicle can sometimes be a long drawn out task, this is why he ensures a smooth and enjoyable experience when you visit his showroom.

FKG recently teamed up with Len Patti Mitsubishi to design their new showroom on the corner of Herries and Prescott Street in Toowoomba.  In the early stages of the project it was evident that we needed to design a modern building that showcased the latest release cars while maintaining the well established Mitsubishi brand.

Large amounts of glass have been used throughout the building to allow natural light to filter through the showroom creating a warm ambience and an inviting feeling for both customers and employees.

The building itself also has a full water recycling system and underground rainwater tank to service its wash down bays.

This state of art modern showroom won the Regional Downs and Western Housing and Construction Award for Retail Facilities up to $2 million and was also awarded the Queensland State Award.

FK Gardner Expands into Mackay

Over the last 12 months the Mackay district has experienced significant growth resulting in further employment.  This was viewed first hand by Queensland Premier Anna Bligh when she recently visited the FK Gardner Hastings Deering site this year.

Since the inception of FK Gardner & Sons over 40 years ago in Toowoomba, there has always been the vision that the small family owned business would one day expand into a widely recognised construction company.

Today, with a head office in Toowoomba and an additional office in Brisbane, FKG, across the state employs a team of 400 people.  With the demand for work in Queensland and the Central Coast areas it became apparent that FKG needed to have representation and have expanded into Mackay.  It is safe to say that there has been steady growth within the civil and construction company.

The Mackay office which is due to open in March 2008 will be headed by Brad Gardner who was previously based in Toowoomba and will be supported by a team who have over 50 years combined experience in the construction industry.

FKG is distinguished by its solid reputation for consistency and proven performance. We do what is really needed to create success, working together with our clients' to achieve their outcomes.  Company director Gary Gardner says “We would not consider growing the business if there was any possibility that we would not be able to continue to service our clients at the same high standards and continue to do this with our country values which have held us in good stead for the last four decades".

The 2007 Queensland State Master Builders Awards were held on Friday 12 October 2007 at the Brisbane Convention Centre.

FK Gardner received two awards for the following categories:

  • Retail Facilities $2 million to $10 million  - Wellington Point Garden Centre (Brisbane)

FKG thanks the teams that worked on these two projects.  Without a dedicated team committed to high quality service these awards would not be possible.

Community Involvement

The last three months have been a particularly busy time for FKG and community involvement!  With a number of community sponsorships occurring.

FKG have been sponsors of two major charity events, including Childhood Cancer & Breast Cancer Research Masquerade Ball in Toowoomba and the 2007 Toowoomba Mayoral Champagne Breakfast in the Park with proceeds from the breakfast going to The Cancer Council Queensland for breast cancer support and research.

Both events were a huge success and raised money to continue this vital research.  A special breast cancer calendar has been launched of local women who have survived breast cancer these are available at Toowoomba City Council.

FKG are committed to supporting the local communities all over Queensland, we recently donated 3 treadmills to Hopevale Community Centre as it was evident that there was a significant need for health equipment to be incorporated into the centre.
