Fluor has been engaged to undertake an engineering, procurement and construction contract for the creation of upstream facilities in the Surat Basin. This forms part of Santos Ltd’s US $18.5 billion GLNG coal seam gas (CSG) venture. The FKG Group was awarded the contract to undertake the earthworks and civil components of the project across three sites. This comprised site clearing and grubbing, stripping of topsoil to a minimum depth of 100mm, bulk excavation to required sub-grade level, construction of new roads to Class A and Class D standard, installation of site and road surface drainage and culverts, relocation of existing and installation of new security fences and gates, provision of temporary and permanent erosion and sediment control, and supply and installation of projection over existing pipelines at road crossings.
