The FKG Group was engaged to undertake the restoration of the Hughenden Airport runway, taxiway and an apron area, as well as full aeronautical ground lighting replacement. Works were divided into four stages, each involving clearing and scrubbing, overlay of new pavement, material relocation, installation of in-ground services, and reinstatement of line marking and lighting. The Hughenden Airport Restoration project was a milestone project for the FKG Group, using foam bitumen stabilisation to treat a runway.
