HELPING A4K MAKE SPORTING DREAMS COME TRUE FOR REGIONAL QLD KIDS

14th January 2020

The FKG Group is pleased to come on board as the major sponsor for Aspirations4Kids In Sport – an organisation that provides financial assistance to disadvantaged school students with a talent and passion for sport.

Established in 1999 and headed by former Australian wicketkeeper and batsman, Ian Healy, the organisation has assisted more than 2,000 Queensland school students aged between 10 and 19, to participate in their chosen sport and improve their lifestyle.

Mr Healy said it was a pleasure to be associated with Aspirations4Kids In Sport and was thankful for the support of the FKG Group.

“It brings me great joy to lead an organisation that assists kids facing hardship, disabilities, chronic illness, and remote living issues to play their favourite sport. Our hope is that no one misses out on playing their chosen sport due to unique or extenuating circumstances, and being backed by a major sponsor like the FKG Group helps us achieve this,” said Mr Healy.

The FKG Group’s Executive Chairman, Gary Gardner, said the Group was proud to support young sporting talent in the regional communities they work in. “The A4K vision spoke to a lot of us at the FKG Group. We regularly work in regional areas and see people doing it tough, so we’re very happy to partner with an organisation that can help some of the students in those areas to continue to play their chosen sport,” said Mr Gardner.

“As a family run company, spanning three generations, we hate to think of kids missing out on achieving their dreams. This is our way of giving back to the community and helping a few sporting dreams come true.”

“We believe in the work that A4K does, and we know sport can play a huge role in improving the lives of Queensland kids and their families,” Mr Gardner continued.

With a number of projects in the Roma, Darling Downs, Isaac, and Mackay regions – the FKG Group try to support local community events and foundations where possible.
