THE FKG GROUP’S PROJECTS IN MACKAY AND WHITSUNDAY REGION TAKE OUT TWO AWARDS

21st August 2019

The FKG Group has had a successful few weeks of award wins throughout various regions at the Master Builders Queensland Awards, with another two awards taken home at last Saturday’s awards evening for the Mackay and Whitsunday region.

The expansive Whitsunday Foodservice Facility project received the winning award in the category of ‘Industrial Building up to $5M’, despite some tough competition! Karen Reynolds, FKG Group Project Manager, accepted the award and said it was a fantastic feeling to see her team’s hard work rewarded. “It was really great to work on a project that has delivered huge benefits to the efficiency of our client’s business operations. We had some initial set backs with bad weather, but we were still able to push through and complete the project on time and within budget – and now we can say it’s an award winning project!”

Ken Burton, FKG Group Business Development Manager, collected the award for the Mackay Northern Beaches State High School Performing Arts Centre which was the winning project in the ‘Education Facilities over $10M’ category. Ken said it was an intricately constructed project that he was pleased to see awarded. “There was a lot of work that went into this project, from the design aesthetics aspect and precise material selection, through to the detailed construction components. Our team is honoured to receive this award, and we’d like to thank and congratulate the client and our subcontractors too.”

The team are looking forward to attending the Master Builders Queensland Housing and Construction State Awards evening later this year, and are hopeful for some more wins!
