IMS Mackay

The FKG Group was engaged to design and construct a 900m² structural steel workshop and 500m² awning extension on a brownfield property in Paget, Mackay. The project included the supply and install of two 25t overhead cranes and ten 2t jib cranes, and the construction of new concrete hardstand areas.

Works were conducted in an operational environment adjacent to an existing Independent Mining Services Ltd (IMS) workshop, requiring the team to implement detailed site and traffic management to ensure no hazards were encountered by staff members or the public, whilst also minimising disruption to the business and neighbouring properties.

The FKG Group team commenced the design phase in July 2018 – providing a number of value engineering options to suit both the tenant and client requirements, and construction works were successfully completed in June 2019.
