Mackay Council Depot

The FKG Group was contracted to design and construct a new depot on behalf of Mackay Regional Council. The purpose of the project was to create a facility that could cater to the work demands of the expanding city. The 83,150m² construction site was located within two adjoining precincts, one for storage and maintenance and the other for administration, with the addition of truck wash-down bays, gravel storage bins and small shed structures. The project had a specific focus on implementing “green” design and construction methods. To support this focus, the FKG Group utilised environmentally sustainable initiatives such as solar panels to minimise operational costs of the facility.
