The FKG Group was appointed as a subcontractor to undertake works on BMD’s Tiger Brennan Drive Duplication project. Tiger Brennan Drive is a major urban arterial road between Darwin CBD and Palmerstone and Package 3 involved sections between the Woolner Road Intersection and Berrimah Drive Intersection.
Prior to construction, this section comprised of a two lane single carriageway with minimal overtaking opportunities. The new road was expanded to a four-lane dual carriageway approximately 3km in length and will improve road safety and traffic control.
The scope included construction of on/off ramps to tie in to the new road, construction of a traffic switch to the new westbound alignment, construction of a bridge at Hidden Valley Road and modifications to the existing eastbound carriageway.
The FKG Group also worked with local partner ICRG North to maximise opportunities for Indigenous employment and local industry participation.
