The FKG Group was contracted to construct a new engine rebuild facility in Rockhampton for Hastings Deering. The project involved the delivery of a 2,700m² steel-framed, metal-clad engine rebuild centre which incorporated the construction of a new dyno room for the testing of engines. Works also included the construction of a separate retail oil store building, concrete paving works and an oil store building to house plant and materials directly servicing the dynos and engine rebuild areas. As an alternative to forklifts and manual labour, gantry cranes were installed to be used in the loading of engines.
