The 2014 Easternwell ‘It’s a Bloke Thing’ Prostate Cancer Fundraising Event held in August 2014, has raised over $1.21 million dollars in support of the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia.
The annual event is now recognised as the largest daytime fundraising initiative in Australia, with the funds benefiting Prostate Cancer research and men’s health programs across Queensland.
Highlights from the annual event which was attended by over 380 guests include guest speakers; five time motor-GP world champion, Mick Doohan, ‘A Current Affair’ Executive Producer Grant Williams and Founder and Executive Director of the Australian Prostate Cancer Research Centre Queensland, Professor Colleen Nelson.

Gary Gardner, Executive Chairman of the FKG Group and Chairman of the It’s a Bloke Thing Foundation said, “I would like to sincerely thank the FKG Group team for their support – I was overwhelmed by the generosity of our staff, suppliers and clients. As a survivor of prostate cancer this is a cause that I hold close to my heart and I look forward to the day a cure is found.”
Planning is underway for the 2015 event and the It’s a Bloke Thing Foundation is calling for sponsors and prize donations.
