4th June 2022
From the 27th May to the 3rd June, teams from throughout the FKG Group embraced National Reconciliation Week (NRW), hosting a number of activities and initiatives across our sites and offices.
Highlights from the week included an Indigenous Art Showcase in the FKG Group’s Windsor Office, made possible by Wesley Mission Queensland’s Art from the Margins initiative; a presentation at the Hastings Secondary College project site, which showcased how the design of the project has incorporated Indigenous aspects; an internal colouring-in-competition for our teams and their families; and a number of fundraisers held across our Civil sites in support of Goondir Health’s Big Buddy Program.
Leadership and Development Manager, Matt Ahlberg, spoke of how as a business, the FKG Group has made a long-term commitment to make reconciliation a priority.
“While NRW provides us with a wonderful opportunity to shine a spotlight on reconciliation, our focus on reconciliation continues well past this,” Matt said.
“As a group, we hope to continue improving our understanding of Indigenous values, cultures, and history, while also increasing employment and economic opportunities for Indigenous peoples and businesses.”
