To cater for the community needs of Cooktown in Far North Queensland, Cooktown Shire Council contracted the FKG Group to complete the construction of a new 3,000m² Community and Events Centre. The multi-purpose facility was built to host various sporting and cultural events but, with various amenities and a custom-designed structure, also doubles as a storm shelter in the cyclone-prone region.
