FKG was engaged by the Department of Education for the design and construction of Stage 2 works at Foxwell State Secondary College. This stage delivered senior art and design, hospitality, applied technology, science and general learning classrooms, along with a performing arts centre.
Building on the successful completion of Stage 1, the team maintained strong relationships with school stakeholders throughout delivery. Operating within a live school environment, the site was fully separated with solid hoarding and dedicated access routes, including a walkthrough container system to manage interaction with school traffic. A tower crane was used for major lifts, with limit switches ensuring operations remained within the site footprint. High-risk activities were scheduled outside school hours to maintain safety. Environmental management was critical, with bunding and a sacrificial biobasin installed to treat runoff before discharge to the Oaky Creek system.
