Millmerran Hospital

FKG was engaged for the design and construction of a new Multipurpose Health Service facility in Millmerran, replacing the existing hospital and helipad. The project delivered enhanced clinical and general support services for the region.

Works included demolition of the original structures, construction of a compliant helipad, and development of a single-storey hospital with dedicated wings for inpatient care, aged care, and acute services.

Challenges included maintaining uninterrupted hospital operations, managing dust and noise near residential and community areas, and resolving helipad compliance issues. Coordination with Millmerran Airfield enabled safe helicopter access during construction. Innovations such as screw pier foundations and a redesigned ambulance bay improved efficiency and reduced costs. The project achieved significant local engagement and training outcomes, with over 75% of spend retained locally and 15,800 training hours delivered.
