Sleeman Aquatic Centre
The FKG Group was engaged to undertake upgrade works to aquatic facilities at the Sleeman Sports Centre in Chandler, Brisbane. The project involved the construction of a 50m Olympic-size pool and dive tower, replacement and upgrade of existing plant, refurbishment of change rooms and construction of a concrete hardstand and suspended walkways. Implementation of FINA specifications for the pool, dive tower and concourses incorporated the use of a specifically-designed blinding layer for the pool bedding and specialised concrete design mixes and controls.
