The FKG Group was engaged to undertake the main development of the Vinidex 7,500m² poly pipe manufacturing plant constructed within the FKG Group’s AATLIS Precinct (formerly the Witmack Industrial Park).

The Vinidex facility includes a large office, six silos to hold the beads for poly pipe manufacturing, five overhead cranes, a boardroom and all equipment used in the pipe production process. The project involved general construction works utilising structural steel framing, colour bond sheeting on the roof and sides and FC cladding in the office areas.

An innovative undertaking was the design and construction of eight sliding doors on the side of the factory. When opened, the total clear span is 52 metres, providing open access to the entire side of the building. Due to the massive clear space from wall to wall, the load bearing struts were constructed from thick, reinforced structural steel beams to cater for regular moving elements of the area like cranes and door movements, and to support the roof structure.

Project value: $10 Million (Construction) $22 Million (Development)
