Two wins for the FKG Group at the Master Builders Brisbane Housing and Construction Awards evening

11th July 2019

Last Friday a few of the FKG Group team attended the Master Builders Brisbane Housing and Construction Awards and were thrilled to bring home two award wins for the Group.

The meticulously designed and constructed Sinnamon Village Aged Care – Stage 1 Dovetree was the winning project in the competitive Community Accommodation for Aged Care and Nursing Homes category. The project involved the demolition of two existing buildings, and the construction of six new buildings with 36 contemporary aged care suites. The scope also included the construction of podium level building services and medical areas such as staff amenities, laundry, store rooms, plant areas and a loading dock, along with extensive landscaping to the podium and undercroft areas.

Senior Project Manager for the works, Christian Whitlock, said the team was absolutely thrilled to accept the award. “We are so proud of being able to bring Wesley Mission’s vision to life at Sinnamon Village. Our team, our suppliers and our subcontractors all worked incredibly hard, and it’s great to be acknowledged for this.”

With a focus on recognising team members, the FKG Group were pleased to nominate Mark Ellis who won the award for Apprentice of the Year. Mark’s dedication to the delivery of quality workmanship, diligence, punctuality, and commitment to skill development were some of the main reasons for his nomination.

The FKG Group is looking forward to attending the remainder of the Master Builders Award evenings over the following weeks, with several more projects nominated across various regions.
