Last Thursday afternoon, the FKG Group team in Cairns held a subcontractor networking event at the local Rattle ‘n Hum bar. Over 100 subcontractors and suppliers joined the team to learn about upcoming work opportunities on some of the region’s largest projects while also enjoying a few icy cold beverages.
The team appreciated the opportunity to catch up with those who have helped many of our projects come to life, while also putting names to faces for those they hadn’t yet had an opportunity to meet.
FKG Group’s North Queensland Operations Manager, Brad Gardner, spoke at the event and said the updates on future opportunities were well received by attendees.
“Some of the subcontractors in attendance had worked on our hugely successful landmark projects such as the Cairns Aquarium and the Cairns Performing Arts Centre, while others are currently working with us on the Cairns Hospital, the Atherton Hospital, HMAS Cairns, or the recently finished BP Paget Travel Centre. We had a great crowd of hard workers in attendance!” said Brad.
“Everyone was excited to hear about work in the pipeline, and it was great to be able to reiterate what the press have said about the boom in large scale construction in the region. There’s plenty of work set to begin shortly, and we look forward to bringing our valued subcontractors along with us,” continued Brad.
Following the success of their first few events, the FKG Group have been regularly hosting subcontractor networking events across the regions they work in, and are looking forward to connecting with more suppliers in the New Year!
