FKG was engaged for the design and construction of the Hudson Creek Power Station at Wishart, Darwin. The facility uses natural gas from the Darwin Distribution System to generate electricity for the Power and Water Corporation network. The station comprises six gas generator sets housed in a generator hall, delivering a continuous output of 12MWe, with an additional 500kVA diesel generator for black start capability. Grid connection was established via the Hudson Creek Zone Substation, with provisions made for future expansion to double output capacity.

The scope included extensive civil, structural, and building services works. Design coordination issues were resolved through FKG’s expertise, and delays in control board supply were mitigated by strategic demobilisation and remobilisation. The layout was planned to minimise operational disruption during future upgrades, ensuring long-term functionality and scalability.
