IPSWICH GRAMMAR SCHOOL GREAT HALL ENHANCEMENT

FKG has been engaged for enhancements to landscaping and hardscaping around the heritage-listed Great Hall, the original school building of Ipswich Grammar School – the oldest secondary school in Queensland. The purpose of the project is to improve the function and aesthetics of the precinct, which dates back to 1863. Conducted within the centre of the school campus which provides access to a significant number of school buildings for both the community and school staff and students, the team liaised closely with school staff to manage the works around school activities.

The project was performed in six stages within three separable portions in order to maintain access and operations to all buildings at all times.

The iconic project involves campus enhancements including new stone paving over pedestrian areas and roads, retaining walls, structural landscaping, metalwork and balustrades, new services and services relocations, new lighting, power drainage and irrigation, gardens, plantings and signage.
