Nirimba State Primary School

FKG was engaged by the Department of Education for the design and construction of the Nirimba State Primary School, located on a large greenfield site in the growing Aura community. The scope included an administration block, two three-storey community buildings, a canteen, sports hall, maintenance building, covered colonnades, carparking, play areas, sports field, and outdoor courts.

Significant scope additions were incorporated during delivery, including a new toilet block, extended balustrades, and a full fit-out to Block C Level 2. Construction planning prioritised site efficiency and safety, with clearly defined access points, signage, amenities, and a haul road established early. An innovative swing gate edge protection also ensured safety during multi-storey deliveries.

Roofing design was modified to address trade availability, enabling program certainty. Acid sulphate soils and high water tables were managed through tailored ground treatment and drainage strategies.
