Pimlico State High School New Performing Arts Centre and Block R Refurbishment

FKG was engaged for the design and construction of multiple upgrades across Pimlico State High School, including a new performing arts centre, aquaponics and aquaculture building, and conversion of an existing structure into a library.

Works were staged across three separate locations, requiring strict traffic management and site access controls to ensure safety and minimise disruption. Extensive latent conditions due to the school’s age and lack of service documentation posed a significant challenge, particularly for inground services. FKG implemented hydrovacing and proactive coordination with stakeholders to resolve these issues smoothly. Construction was scheduled around school operations, with noisy and high-risk works performed outside school hours or during holidays. Asbestos removal was completed as night works.

The project was delivered on time and to budget, with strong stakeholder collaboration and consistent communication contributing to its success.
