FKG was engaged by the Port of Brisbane and Rogers Transport to deliver the design and construction of a new warehouse facility to support expanding logistics operations. The scope included a 15,800m² warehouse with a hazardous goods containment zone, main office and dock, workshop with automated washbay and maintenance pit, and extensive external hardstand and truck manoeuvring areas.
Collaborative design adjustments increased hazardous goods storage capacity, enhancing commercial outcomes. Early morning concrete pours and increased pour sizes mitigated weather risks and ensured slab quality. Ground conditions were proactively managed through tailored design and improvement works, informed by FKG’s experience on adjoining sites. Sustainability initiatives included carbon-reduced concrete, water recycling, and 95% waste diversion.
The project was completed ahead of schedule and within budget, with early access provided to support tenant fit-out.
