Whitsunday Foodservice Facility

The FKG Group was engaged by Whitsunday Foodservice to refurbish and extend the existing food stores and office space at the Whitsunday Foodservice facility in Cannonvale, Queensland which had been damaged by Cyclone Debbie.

To allow the facility to continue operation whilst construction was underway, the project was completed in two stages. Stage One included construction of a new 1,800m² store facility with a dry store, two chillers and large freezer storage. Following the completion of Stage One, Stage Two included the demolition of the existing 1,300m² cyclone damaged facility and construction of a 300m² anteroom and 250m² office space.

A cutting-edge facility, innovative solutions were incorporated into the project from the ground up including specialised pipework which was installed within the engineered fill to mitigate condensation. Rapid doors, an anteroom and loading dock shelters were also included to minimise temperature loss.
