FKG was engaged to design and construct Woogaroo Creek State School at Augustine Heights, delivering eight new buildings across a large greenfield site. The scope included administration, prep, junior and applied tech precincts, a resource centre, multi-purpose hall, carparking, landscaping, and civil infrastructure.
Early delays due to redesign requirements for Purser Road were mitigated through staging and construction of a temporary access road. Works were coordinated to enable early handover of key buildings for the 2023 school year, with remaining works delivered within an operational school environment.
Extensive consultation with the Yuggera Ugarapul People ensured cultural heritage was preserved and incorporated into the school’s design, including a yarning circle and traditional artwork. Environmental controls were implemented to protect adjacent waterways and fish habitats, with erosion and sediment measures maintained throughout.
