Two more wins for the FKG Group at the Downs and Western Master Builders Awards

Earlier this month the FKG Group took home two awards at the Brisbane Master Builders Awards evening, and have followed up this success with a further two award wins at the Downs and Western region’s awards evening.

The FKG Group won the award for ‘Refurbishment/Renovation under $750,000’ for their work on the heritage listed Bellevue Hotel, as well as the award for ‘Commercial Building $5M – $50M’ for their design and construction of the state-of-the-art Pulse Data Centre.

Ken Burton, lead Project Manager for the Bellevue Hotel refurbishment, said it was a great honour to work on the renowned hotel and give it a brand-new look and feel without compromising its history. “This is a hotel that was built in 1904 and filled with important memories, so it was a wonderful journey to be able to preserve its heritage and instil a modern look and feel to complement this. The team worked incredibly hard to maintain its original styling while meeting the functional office requirements of its current owners.”

After being told about the award for Pulse Data Centre, the FKG Group’s Project Manager Daniel Milne said he was delighted to see the team acknowledged for their work on Australia’s first regional Uptime Institute Tier III certified data centre. “We knew from designing the initial plans that this facility would be world class. Conducted as an end-to-end 3D BIM-modelled design and construct project, it is a great example of what the FKG Group can achieve when it combines the resources of its design and development, construction, and NRG Services teams. The teams implemented a significant number of innovations and processes to ensure the hi-tech centre would be delivered with seamless critical services integration, to a superior quality and reliability level to cater to Pulse Data Centre’s clients.”

The team at FKG Group have entered a number of other projects in the remaining regional awards and are hoping to see a few more wins before this year’s award season ends.
