FKG were engaged for the design and construction of new school buildings and refurbishments across Bangalow and Bexhill Public Schools. Delivered within live school environments, the works required careful staging and coordination to minimise disruption to students, staff, and the surrounding community. Scope included demolition, civil upgrades, new building construction, and refurbishment of existing facilities.

At Bexhill, ground disturbance works revealed Indigenous artifacts, triggering a formal heritage process involving archaeological assessments and government approvals. FKG navigated these requirements while maintaining program momentum. Design and construction sequencing were revised to accommodate site constraints, heritage conditions, and operational school needs. Lessons learned from previous education projects were applied to de-risk activities and maintain continuity.

FKG’s collaborative approach with Schools Infrastructure NSW and school principals supported timely decision-making and stakeholder engagement. The project achieved cost savings through value management and design optimisation, while exceeding Indigenous participation targets and apprentice training commitments.
