Gold Coast Recreation Precinct Upgrade
The FKG Group was engaged by the Department of Tourism and Sport and RP Infrastructure to design and construct upgrades to the Gold Coast Recreation Precinct. The project included redevelopment of accommodation facilities, a new carpark, and an outdoor gym, delivered across three separable portions. Located between Burleigh Head National Park and Tallebudgera Creek, the site operated year-round, requiring careful coordination to maintain access and minimise disruption. FKG managed demolition of existing buildings and constructed three new two-storey accommodation blocks, a laundry facility, common undercover areas, and associated landscaping and services. Key challenges included working within a live precinct, managing traffic flow and student movement, and ensuring uninterrupted services to operational areas.
