Gold Coast Recreation Precinct Upgrade
FKG was engaged by the Department of Tourism and Sport and RP Infrastructure to design and construct upgrades to the Gold Coast Recreation Precinct. The project includes redevelopment of accommodation facilities, a new carpark, and an outdoor gym, delivered across three separable portions. Located between Burleigh Head National Park and Tallebudgera Creek, the site operates year-round, requiring careful coordination to maintain access and minimise disruption. FKG will manage demolition of existing buildings and construct three new two-storey accommodation blocks, a laundry facility, common undercover areas, and associated landscaping and services. Key challenges include working within a live precinct, managing traffic flow and student movement, and ensuring uninterrupted services to operational areas.
