ReGroup Browns Plains Recycling
FKG was engaged to construct a new Materials Recovery Facility at Heritage Park for Re.Group, delivering a modern waste processing and resource recovery hub to support long-term operational requirements. The project comprised a main recovery building with an adjoining two-storey office, a conjoined tip hall and glass processing facility, a bale storage area, and associated site infrastructure. External works included fire sprinkler systems, sealed car parking, hardstand pavements, and a stormwater detention system.
Construction was completed within a live operational environment, with safe access maintained for stakeholders and disruption to Logan City Council operations minimised throughout delivery. Key challenges associated with staging works around existing services, maintaining site security, and implementing erosion and sediment controls adjacent to bushland were carefully managed. Complex concrete pours were successfully coordinated, while early procurement of structural steel supported programme milestones and ensured efficient project delivery.
