ReGroup Browns Plains Recycling
FKG has been awarded the contract to construct a new Materials Recovery Facility at Heritage Park for Re.Group. The project includes a main recovery building with an adjoining two-level office, a conjoined tip hall and glass processing building, bale storage area, and associated infrastructure. External works comprise fire sprinkler systems, sealed carparking, hardstand pavements, and a stormwater detention system. FKG will manage construction within a live operational environment, ensuring safe access for stakeholders and minimal disruption to Logan City Council operations.
Key challenges include coordinating staged works around existing services, maintaining site security, and implementing erosion and sediment controls adjacent to bushland. FKG will also manage complex concrete pours and early procurement of structural steel to meet program milestones.
