FKG was engaged for the design and construction of a 9,000m² bale storage shed at the Dalby Cotton Gin, including fire, electrical and hydraulic services, roller doors, external concrete pavement, and a new carpark connecting to the existing facility.
Delivered adjacent to operational storage areas, the project required careful coordination with QLD Cotton to minimise disruption. Site access was managed through temporary fencing, hoarding, and a dedicated accessway for personnel and mobile plant.
Inclement weather caused a two-month delay, mitigated through re-sequencing of internal works to maintain progress. The scope was adjusted to include additional concrete pavement, approved as a head contract variation. Despite weather challenges, the project was completed within the approved timeframe and to the high satisfaction of the client. FKG’s established relationship with QLD Cotton supported effective communication and operational alignment throughout delivery.
